Frequently asked questions

Can this tool tell me if my COA is fake?

No tool can prove that from the document alone. It checks how complete and verifiable the COA is and flags warning signs, then shows you how to confirm the report with the issuing lab, which is the only real proof.

Does a good COA mean my vial matches it?

Not by itself. A COA describes the sample that was tested. Matching the lot number on your vial, getting the lot-specific COA before you pay, or testing your own sealed vial closes that gap.

Is my information or my file stored?

By default, no. Your COA file is read on your own device and the report is written in your browser. If you choose AI reading, the file is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to be read. COA Explained never stores it, and Anthropic keeps request data for up to 30 days for safety and security, then deletes it.

What if my COA is a photo or a scanned image?

The checker uses text recognition on images and image-only PDFs. It's slower than reading a text PDF and can misread small or blurry text, so always check the highlighted answers before writing your report.
